Paraeducator Proficiency Examination
The Paraeducator Examination is offered on a regular basis:
- The two-part multiple-choice exam covers math and English Skills.
- The test can take up to three hours to complete.
- Pre-registration is required.
- Testing dates fill up quickly.
- Testers must bring a valid photo ID (with birthdate) to testing.
- Testers must properly wear a mask during testing.
- Test results and certificates will be mailed. Can take up to 7 days to receive results.
NCLB Paraeducator requirement can be met by completion of ONE of the following:
• Paraeducator Proficiency Exam Certificate (Meets ESSA standards)
• California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
• Completion of two years college (48 semester units) or A.A. degree (or higher)
• Paraeducator Proficiency Exam Certificate (Meets ESSA standards)
