California School-Aged Families Education (Cal-SAFE) - Cal-SAFE is a comprehensive, integrated, community-linked, school-based program for expectant and parenting students and their children. Children of enrolled student parents are eligible for child care and development services until the child reaches five years of age or is enrolled in kindergarten, whichever occurs first. Department of Human Assistance - Provides temporary cash assistance for needy families, employment services, child care referrals and resources, transportation, and supportive services if approved.
The Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) assists Californians with disabilities obtain and retain employment and maximize their ability to live independently. Vocational rehabilitation teams work closely with job seekers to establish the best combination of services and resources necessary to prepare for, find, retain and advance in employment. Our services are tailored to each individual's strengths and challenges to ensure the greatest chance of success.
Elk Grove Adult and Community Training (EGACT) - For more than 30 years, EGACE has partnered with EGACT to offer Community Access Skills and Functional Academics to adults with disabilities at EGACT's two campuses. A wide range of programs for adults with developmental disabilities is offered. Courses focus on developing life and vocational skills so that students may gain a greater sense of independence and maintain a less restrictive lifestyle. Clients must be eligible for services through Alta Regional Center. For more information call (916) 685-7666.
Employment Development Department (EDD) - California Training Benefits Program allows eligible California Unemployment Insurance claimants who lack competitive job skills to receive their UI benefits while attending an approved training/retraining program, assists with job search and registration on Cal Jobs. Currently, EGACE offers training for Allied Health careers in part through funding from EDD.
Sacramento County Sheriff's Department - EGACE partners with the Sheriff's Department to offer a variety of courses at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (RCCC) and the Sacramento County Main Jail. For more information call our RCCC office at (916) 874-1817.
Sacramento Employment Training Agency Inc. (SETA) - Job posting service, customized recruitment events, applicant screening services, job fairs, skills assessment, business services, labor market information, customized training programs, tax credits, on-the-job training, disability program navigator services, job seeker services, One-Stop Career Center Services.
Sacramento Works Youth Works Program - Goal is to expand and enhance the access of employment and academic opportunities for youth in transition, provides services to 90 youth ages 16-21 who reside in the Sacramento County, youth with disabilities, including emancipating foster youth, and youth who are on probation.
Senior Center of Elk Grove (SCEG) - EGACE offers community interest classes, such as Introduction to the Computer, at the SCEG's facility on Sharkey Avenue in Elk Grove.
